Vignette is located in Adams Morgan at 2473 18th Street NW, Washington, DC 20009. We’re in a dense urban center with a variety of options for supporting your production including equipment rentals, shipping, hotels, transportation, food, culture, and entertainment.
Studio Hours: Daily from 7am - 6pm.
Office Hours: M-F from 9am - 5pm.
Please contact us for after hours, weekends, or multi day production.
Vignette uses a reservation hold system to provide flexibility in booking your production. Holds are on a 1st hold, 2nd hold, etc. basis. A hold is an option to rent the studio for a given day. In order to secure your reservation we require a signed contract and a credit card to be placed on file; which will be charged at the end of your rental day. If you would like to secure your reservation, please contact us and we will offer anyone ahead of you in the hold queue the choice to secure their reservation or release their hold for that day.
Secured reservations cancelled within two weeks, 14 days, prior to the start of the reservation will result in the credit card on file being charged the full estimated cost for studio rental and contracted services. Charges from a cancellation can be used as a credit towards a future rental as long as it is within 30 days of the originally scheduled reservation.
Load In and Load Out
The loading point is the front door of our 18th Street address. Please be advised that there is no elevator and the recording space is located on the 2nd floor. Although the majority of heavy equipment most productions need is available as part of the studio rental, we are available to assist you with any any additional items such as cameras and audio gear. We recommend that at the beginning of the day you load in, and then park.
Transportation & Parking
There are lots of options for getting to Vignette including walking, metro bus and rail (Woodley, Dupont, Columbia Heights), and every manner of vehicle sharing (uber, lyft, capital bike share, scooter). We are also roughly 30 - 60 minutes by car from three major airports: DCA/National, IAD/Dulles, and BWI/Baltimore.
For those who need to park there is metered street parking and we recommend using the Park Mobile app. If you are DC resident with a zone 1 sticker, you can often find spots on nearby side streets, especially for pre rush hour call times.
For regular sized passenger vehicles we highly recommend the Colonial Parking Garage at 2421 18th Street. The standard cost is $20/vehicle per day. While this garage usually has spots open, please note that the spaces can be low and the clearance is low.
For commercial vehicles, such as grip trucks, we have an arrangement with a lot a block away, which we can see from our windows. The cost is about 30/vehicle per day and overnight arrangements can be made for a little more.
While our primary use is as a studio space, Vignette can be rented out as a raw space for private events. Please contact us with more information about your event.
